Suggested Sailing Itineraries from Lefkas
From our base in Lefkas, you have two exceptional sailing routes to choose from. Sailors typically set off on adventures either through the picturesque Southern Ionian or the stunning Northern Ionian islands. Each route offers its own unique charm—whether it’s exploring hidden bays, discovering quaint villages, or sailing through the vibrant blue waters of the Ionian Sea. However, your journey is entirely up to you—feel free to follow these itineraries or create your own path. We’re always here to offer suggestions and recommendations to ensure your trip is exactly as you’ve envisioned it.
Southern Ionian 7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Lefkas to Kefalonia (Fiscardo, 29 nm)
Start your adventure by sailing south to the picturesque village of Fiscardo on Kefalonia. Known for its vibrant harbor and Venetian architecture, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the island’s stunning scenery and charming atmosphere.
Day 2: Kefalonia to Zakynthos (43 nm)
Today, set sail for the famous Zakynthos, with its world-renowned beaches like Navagio (Shipwreck Beach) and the Blue Caves. Enjoy the clear, turquoise waters and take some time to explore the island’s vibrant nightlife and natural beauty.
Day 3: Zakynthos to Agia Efimia, Kefalonia (37 nm)
Sail back north to Agia Efimia, a small harbor town on Kefalonia’s eastern coast. From here, you can explore the magical Melissani Lake, take a hike to the famous Myrtos Beach, or simply relax in one of the many waterfront tavernas.
Day 4: Agia Efimia to Ithaca (16 nm)
Next, head to the legendary island of Ithaca, the home of Odysseus. Spend the evening in Vathi, the island’s capital, or opt for a more tranquil stay in Kioni. Both offer beautiful beaches, great food, and a peaceful atmosphere.
Day 5: Ithaca to Kalamos (17 nm)
Continue your journey by sailing to Kalamos, a quiet island covered in pine forests. The secluded coves and pristine waters make it a wonderful stop for swimming, snorkeling, and soaking in the serene beauty of the Ionian.
Day 6: Kalamos to Lefkas (20 nm)
Sail back towards Lefkas, but make sure to stop along the way for a swim in one of the many beautiful bays, such as Desimi or Meganissi. Reach Lefkas in the evening, and take the opportunity to explore the local culture and cuisine.
Day 7: Explore Lefkas
Before departing, spend your final day relaxing on Lefkas Island. Visit the lagoon, the Agia Mavra fort, or one of the island’s many famous beaches. Lefkas is perfect for both adventure seekers and those looking for a calm end to their trip.
Northern Ionian 7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Lefkas to Preveza (7 nm)
Start with an easy sail to Preveza, a charming port town known for its Venetian architecture and lively waterfront. Wander through the town’s cobblestone streets, enjoy a coffee at one of the seaside cafes, and take in the beautiful sunset.
Day 2: Preveza to Parga (27 nm)
Today, sail further north to the colorful town of Parga. Though it’s a mainland town, Parga has an island feel with its vibrant buildings, lush green hills, and crystal-clear waters. Spend the day exploring the Venetian castle or relaxing on one of the beaches.
Day 3: Parga to Syvota (12 nm)
A short sail will take you to the peaceful village of Syvota. Known for its scenic bays and green islets, Syvota is perfect for swimming, exploring hidden coves, or simply enjoying the beautiful views of the Ionian Sea.
Day 4: Syvota to Corfu (Mandraki Marina, 21 nm)
Next, sail to Corfu, one of the most iconic Ionian islands. Dock at Mandraki Marina and spend the evening exploring Corfu Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Don’t miss landmarks like the Achilleion Palace and the charming old town with its Venetian, French, and British influences.
Day 5: Corfu to Paxos (27 nm)
Head to the idyllic island of Paxos, famous for its fjord-like beaches and tranquil beauty. Spend the day in Gaios, the island’s capital, and explore the local tavernas or take a dip in the turquoise waters of the island’s many bays.
Day 6: Paxos to Antipaxos (6 nm)
Enjoy a short sail to the tiny island of Antipaxos, renowned for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. Voutoumi Beach is a must-see and is often considered one of the best beaches in Greece. Spend the day swimming and snorkeling in this paradise.
Day 7: Antipaxos to Lefkas (40 nm)
For your final day, sail back to Lefkas, stopping along the way for a swim or a relaxing lunch in one of the picturesque bays. Return to Lefkas Marina, where you can unwind and reflect on your unforgettable Ionian adventure.
Getting to Athens
Lefkas Marina, where our boats are docked, is perfectly located on the eastern coast of Lefkada Island. It’s only 17km from Aktion (Preveza) International Airport, making transfers quick and easy. You can expect a taxi ride from the airport to the marina to take about 25-30 minutes. For those preferring public transport, buses are also available.
